THE COLLECTION
THE COLLECTION
GECE GECE is a New York jewelry line creating precious little things to be worn from dusk till dawn, becoming a part of the wearer over time.
Gece means “night” in Turkish. The name grew from the memory of a hazy, luminous afternoon at the beach that first inspired the collection—the silver light reflecting across the sea and the warmth of the wind on the skin.
The brand draws inspiration from vintage jewelry and timeless silhouettes, reinterpreted through a contemporary sensibility. The pieces are designed to feel timeless themselves, while leaving room for the traces of time and life that come with being worn and lived in.
Handwork is at the heart of the collection. Every master model is hand-carved or fabricated, retaining the conscious marks of the hand and the subtle imperfections that give each piece its character, before being cast in solid precious metals by trusted partners in New York’s Diamond District. Precious stones are sourced from trusted suppliers in New York and Istanbul and selected individually for their quality and character.
A signature matte brushed finish runs throughout the collection, encouraging the playful mixing of yellow gold, white gold and silver.
GECE GECE is designed in our Brooklyn studio and produced in New York City.
THE DESIGNER
THE DESIGNER
GECE GECE was founded in 2024 by Alev Koksal Kennedy, a designer who grew up in Turkey and is now based in New York.
With a background in design and studio art and experience working across fashion, accessories, graphic design, and marketing, Alev eventually found her way to jewelry through the process of making by hand. A brief jewelry workshop—where she learned to make a simple ring and was captivated by the process — became the beginning of a deeper exploration of the craft.
Her approach to jewelry is also deeply personal. She grew up watching her mother wear the same gold bracelets and rings, some of which were later passed down to her. An Omega watch given to her father by her grandfather when she was born eventually became hers as well. These pieces remain among her most cherished belongings—timeless, yet carrying traces of the people and moments that came before them.
This idea of jewelry gathering meaning through time remains at the heart of GECE GECE—a collection of small, precious things made to be worn, lived in, and perhaps one day passed on.
